Islam in Kosova, from Saudi media, February 26, 2008

Notwithstanding hysterical propaganda in the West about Islamist radicalism among Albanians, the Saudi daily Al-Riyadh noted today that the Kosova Republic will not officially attend the Organization of Islamic Conference’s Summit in Dakar next month.  It may attend as a guest, if Senegal invites it.  Senegal has a democratic government and is also known for the absence of radical Islam and dominating influence of West African Sufism.

Because the OIC represents governments and not religious clerics or communities, its Bosnian observer representative is a Sephardi Jew, foreign minister Sven Alkalaj.
