More on the Treacherous DeLong-Bas
by Candace de Russy http://www.islamicpluralism.org/1203/more-on-the-treacherous-delong-bas Brandeis professor Natana DeLong-Bas is a professional apologist for Saudi Wahhabism – "professional," in the sense that she receives direct funding from the official Saudi elite. Earlier this month I reported on DeLong-Bas's absolving of Osama Bin Laden from any connection with 9/11. In Real Clear Politics, Stephen Schwartz reveals further her depiction of " the 'democracy' of terrorist groups like Hamas and the Wahhabi agents in Somalia as superior in achievement to U.S. democratization efforts," and of "Wahhabism as anti-jihad and so benevolent as to be even feminist." Why should we care, Schwartz asks, about such "'treason of the intellectuals'"? Because it is tantamount to "treason of civilization."
