AnnouncementsBin Laden Killed in Pakistan
by Center for Islamic Pluralism http://www.islamicpluralism.org/1779/bin-laden-killed-in-pakistan The Center for Islamic Pluralism joins many millions of moderate Muslims and non-Muslims around the world in congratulating U.S. military forces for locating and killing Osama Bin Laden, the creator of the terrorist Al-Qaida network, at a refuge in Pakistan. The successful conclusion of the American military operation was announced tonight by President Barack Obama. Bin Laden did not die a martyr of Islam. Rather, we believe he was an apostate from Muslim belief in his defense of violence against civilians and other innocents, motivated by the radical Wahhabi ideology emanating from Saudi Arabia. His deviant attitudes were proclaimed in word and deed. We do not believe recitations of Fatiha, surah Ya Sin, or other Islamic memorials are appropriate for this homicidal extremist. We believe the world is better off without him, and that he will face the judgment of Allah almighty for his numerous crimes, denial of their sinful nature, and seduction of Muslims into reprehensible, terrorist acts against other Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
